Visitors told to stay away from Victoria's fire-hit areas
Victorians have been told to rethink trips to the state's fire-ravaged regions, withauthorities warning the areas still aren't safe.
Fire chief GARY MORGAN says the far western edge of the Bogong fire remains a concern, with the blaze spotting over containment lines.
Saturday's expected to be warm with some isolated storms, which could cause further problems.
Fires have been burning for 37 days and crews will be on their guard this weekend toprevent further flare ups.
The fire threat has eased in some areas, allowing students to return to school today, but three Gippsland schools remain closed.
Insured losses from the state's bushfires have reached an estimated $10 million.
The perimeter of the main Victorian fire is now more than 2,100 kilometres long, withfire burning out more than a million hectares after the Snowy River National Park firesmerged with the Bogong inferno.
Some 3,500 firefighters continue to fight the fires.
